On the other hand, as you may know, the US owns 39% of BP shares so too much BP bashing could be counterproductive anyway.

I hope so Rich.

I dislike Mr Obama's seeming enthusiansm for painting the whole thing in colours of bitter nationalist flag waving. BP must accept its balme and its responsabilities - but not, I hope, because they are foreign or British but because they are at fault. As I hope Transoceanic and Halliburton wil also be held to account if they are found to have been at fault.

Mr Obama's rhetoric so far, however, makes me fear that this will becomes a beat up on foreigners to make the President look good.
