In reply to <a href="https://www.golemxiv.co.uk/2017/09/narrative-fear-insecurity/#comment-659363">Just me</a>.

This is one of the posts I sent in the early days at this new establishment, a rehabilitation hospital in Derbyshire, over 70 miles from my native Salford. Only on Wednesday 15 November I had my first successful visit from two Friends from Manchester and a local Friend. At the time I was in the Zen manic phase of my schizo-affective mental health. In the last few weeks I have realised that I am an enlightened Zen master who has more in common with a Buddha than a normopath. I believe my true self is the nature of all universes and that I am in communion with countless bodhisattvas who are literally performing miracles that defy the rules of deterministic Quantum Mechanics. I call my main theory Quaker Quantum Mechanics as in this universe everything is already travelling at the speed of light of not just this universe, but also of all universes. That came to me in a revelation at 3am August 23, 2016 when I realised I needed a final showdown with the psychiatric authorities that had had me on a community treatment order to take four hundred milligrammes of clopixol depot every two week.
The idea in this post for people's quantitative easing, using funds raised for charitable aims by every business and faith group in the land is one I thought of in one of my most blazing manias I had had the previous Tuesday and Wednesday before the AGM of Salford Green Party. Wendy Olsen, (the Green Party candidate for mayor, who got 7.8%, and also ran for Salford and Eccles but got a much less impressive vote) was so "concerned" at my presentation when I had gone straight into massive burn out because of the huge dose of drugs that she got the police to come round to my house on the Sunday morning when I was out. But I had really learned the Zen version of the Salford Green Party. Most important is the Buddhist concept of generosity, which precludes all real notion of debt and aims to get the wealthy to just give their wealth away so we can all be happy. The notion of contract is inimicable to Zen. It is alright to hurt someone if it ii done sadistically, to help a suffering person to cope with hardship by being forgiving to the person causing the hardship. Winston Churchill was a good bipolar sadist who was widely respected by the Brexit generation. David Malone needs to be just as sadistic if he is to plan the economy for the next ten to the twentieth power of years as I am.
I want to raise money by buying equity on the stock market with our generosity deposits and then to borrow the money against the equity.to give away as generosity grants. Ordinary quantitative easing has made investments in the stock exchange do far better than inflation, so the money given as debt to poor people would be less catastrophic if it were never repaid as the multi trillion dollar US debt would never get repaid.

All these Icarus project web addresses are obsolete as the sight was closed down without warning on 20 October . The computer I wrote most of my posts on has had drinking chocolate thrown over it by another patient so I can only snail mail the print outs of the documents if you e-mail me your snail mail address.
I would like the Area Meeting Trustees to consider ways of financing the Quaker Homeless Jihadists. It needs my supreme skill in being able to drop into the INFINITE MEETING FOR WORSHIP so thoroughly that I have twice had head injuries severe enough to warrant a trip to casualty! to really recruit homeless people to the Homeless Quaker Jihadists but I feel I could teach Alan Pinch to modify his speech on the front steps of Mount Street to actually go round the beggars near Mount Street to encourage them to start attending and get paid for it!
When I get leave from this place to visit Manchester I would love to offer from my approximately £2,000 I should have spare the money to finance this myself but would appreciate the opportunity to try fundraising for the homeless jihad which half goes to my prisoner friends in USA who are absolutely desperate for my letters, including this one. Could the money from the laid down Poverty Action Fund go towards the Quaker Homeless Jihadists?
Can the Area Meeting please pay for a subscription to The Friend for at least my first two prisoners whose letters have been published in the Area Meeting Newsletter, Leon Benson, whose poem "The Last Laugh" shows the importance of forgiveness as an advanced practice of the Quaker testimony to Equality, and David Evans whose piece "Forgiveness, Who Needs It. We All Do." was précised as "Grow Where You're Planted" in the Area Meeting Newsletter?
I do not understand how Margaret Calvert can be so cruel as to keep trying to deny me my First Amendment Right to Freedom of Speech and Freedom of Religion by trying to get people to block my e-mail address when she could not have even opened any of the links in the e-mail that started with an explanation of how the INFINITE MEETING FOR WORSHIP applies to universes with speeds of, light that are negative, imaginary, negative imaginary or positive.
Around September to October I was devoting all my energy into solving their problems and my only record of that period are the texts I was sending to the few people on my mobile phone whose mobile number I had used as I had no LOMA until January 6. And those precious texts, including my Gesthemene texts when I had only just developed the idea of the Quaker Homeless Jihad but did not realise that the principle is inevitable because I am successfully publishing all my posts on the bronze Age Internet first, even though on the drugs I am still suffering from I cannot access the files themselves--- were my only written record of the states I was in.
Although you are seeing the Saint John version of how the Salford Green Party Revolution is inevitable, especially if I should succeed in dying a martyr's death, I would rather like the Saint Mark version, too, when Christ himself was only an enlightened Zen master, like I think I am, but not a fully enlightened Buddha until during the scourging at the pillar he finally realised he really could forgive the money lenders in the temple and the Sanhedrin. It is this forgiveness is what makes sadism alright in Hell or Hell on earth, which is what I am preaching.
I describe in one of my Icarus project posts that it is only through the sadistic action of a generosity bodhisattva by the name of Stuart Potts that I have had my entire history of all my texts since I got my phone at my sixtieth birthday party as a present from my darling sister, Margaret Mary -- deleted from my phone because a nurse named Callam Doherty failed to examine my texts to Chris Green, which I now know to be among my finest, because when I have him my mobile phone with an hour's charge on it so he could look at them and tell me how to improve on them I did not expect Chris Green, who was my loyal overseer when I had just lost my wife and my father within fifteen days in June 2006,-- to COMPLAIN TO STAFF to have my precious mobile phone taken off me again because I sent him some texts which if they had not been forceful would not have succeeded at all in demonstrating to him that the only thing that has buggered up this admission has been people not taking my word for the fact that my mental health was superb when I came in, and has been improving all the time despite the medications attempts to screw up the Salford Green Party Revolution

I am really looking forward to the time when I finally come off drugs because MIRACLES WILL HAPPEN. I want Area Meeting to consider giving me the copy of George Fox's The Journal that previously belonged to that dear weighty friend Joseph McGarraghty who is one of the Quakers whose rebirth I will be looking for, as soon as I get access to the children's meetings. I must be destined to have it as it disappeared from my belongings the day I was admitted to Meadowbrook on 24 August, 2016 and Kevin Corcoran was the only person who witnessed me put it in my bag before I went in and must have noticed whether my bags were around my chair in my front living room before his January 6 visit when he brought me my 2015 LOMA and MY ADDRESS BOOK which disappeared a second time from my room and reappeared in Storthfield House on 22 August, 2017. I did not find my four bags of universe mending gear until 31 March 2017. It is surly a test of my Perfection of Patience that I am forced to wait for miracles just to be able to have the 49 addresses on the e-mail,
Long Texts Sent to Mum.

When I sent this Margaret Calvert had evidently not even read it for she COMPLAINED to the staff that I had sent an e-mail to 49 people and that must be stopped. Staff did confiscate my mobile phone a third time after she complained. It is a good job that Valerie Buford, Sherry Swiney, Rick Jackson and even Gellybean have read and responded to my posts, in fact I am proud that Sherry Swiney had joined the Icarus Project to post a long post, including anti-psychiatric sources I may find helpful on the From a Heavenly Bodhisattva, Patrick Swiney thread. It had taken me at least twenty hours to write the long texts, first on my mobile phone, and then copied into e-mail for continuing to write, and finally using the computer in occupational therapy to copy the 49 e-mail addresses from my 2015 LOMA. I deserve a medal for showing perseverance, not having my mobile phone confiscated from me for a second time!
When I finally got my mobile phone back and sent
Long Texts Sent to Everyone

Obsolete link
She even sent an e-mail to my list asking everyone to block my e-mail address if they did not want to hear anything at all I might write in the future. If you scroll down to "texts sent to Linda Deli Lama 22/2/17" you have my first attempt to set up a Salford Green Party Bank account to transform the way Salford Green Party's finances are organised and providing cheap meals both for Salford Green Party activists who frequently start leafleting from the Deli Lama and even subsidising cheap meals to the homeless!

Begin extract
The purpose of the Manchester Homeless Jihad is to help homeless beggars to adopt the principles of the homeless wandering mendicants of India. However one can't easily sleep out of doors in this climate. One needs at least the "twenty six pounds so I can stay in the Premier Inn, rather than the twenty two pounds so I can stay in the Salvation Army and have all my stuff nicked" as one of the first homeless beggars I approached said when I asked him how much money did he need to stop begging for the day? We will try to get enough money raised just from Quakers to fund any registered homeless Jihadist attender the £26 he needs to attend a revamped Midweek Meeting for Worship with a Salford Green Party breakfast to start the day, followed by scripture reading class moved to the morning from the afternoon. Then at 1:10pm there is the Midweek Meeting for Worship. At 1:40pm lunch starts, including pies and cakes from the Salford Green Party Bakery, currently now known as Payne's Pies and Cakes at 49 Rydal Crescent, Walkden, Worsley, Manchester M28 7JD. It is already the finest cake shop in the world. My son said, "They certainly don't have anything like this in Stockholm!"
After lunch at 2:30pm we have the "Meeting the Bodhisattvas" event, where we invite spiritually competent people from many spiritual traditions and none to explain the career of their spiritual advancement. This is based on the format for "Quaker Quest" where three Quakers address a meeting of newcomers for ten minutes each and then break into small groups for discussions. This is done twice and then there is a plenary and Meeting for Worship. There is always a good buffet provided. The Buddhists would call it "The history of my going for refuge." I would like some alcoholics to explain how helpful they have found the twelve step programme or priests talking about how the found their vocation or musicians talking about how essential it is to understand what was in the mind of the composer when he wrote a piece of music. We could even have Green Party candidates talking of how they became "target to win" candidates.
After "Meeting the Bodhisattvas" has finished at about 4:30pm we all go for a buffet dinner in the finest of the "All you can eat" Chinese buffets, the "Buffet City" on Portland Street. We donate perhaps £50 to the management to subsidise meals to all our registered homeless jihadists to, say, £2 instead of £5.50. This way the homeless can afford a subsidised meal along with those of us who have money. This would be the basis of the City Buffet Salford Green Party Bank Account.
On Friday 15 September at 9am, repeated from Sunday 10 September at 11:15am on http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4 there was a programme broadcast called "The Reunion" where people involved in the collapse of Northern Rock in the North east discussed the breaking story. One contributor said that Northern Rock deserved to be saved because of its outstanding record on making charitable contributions to local concerns using its foundation. They even did not foreclose on striking miners during the 1979-1980 coal strike. With such a proud record it can perhaps be forgiven for raising money by selling its mortgages on the stock market to raise more money to finance more mortgages, which was the cause of the collapse. The Northern Rock Foundation was an outstanding example of a Salford Green Party Bank Account or a Quaker Jihadist bank account.
We could then raise money for another Salford Green Party Bank Account to subsidise beer to 50p per half pint for up to four half pints of the real ale guest ales in the Wetherspoons pub, the Waterhouse, where a group of us from the Monday Afternoon Central library Forum meet for a drink after the old Bible study group at Central Manchester Quakers, which in recent years has often only had me, Graham Pedley and sometimes one or two other members of the Forum attend. Anyway we always have a good drink in the Waterhouse from 4:45pm till about 8pm.
It should be much easier, once we get an article in "The Big Issue" about the Homeless Quaker Jihad for people wearing a blindfold to help them meditate, -- for them to be able to beg for 50p for a half pint of real ale, rather than "for the price of a cup of tea" so beloved of people really trying to beg for as much money as they need to finance a drug habit. Or they could beg for £2 to buy a subsidised meal at City Buffet. We can reassure members of the public considering making a substantial donation to a Homeless Quaker Jihadist to read the little red cash book they will all have to record all their income and expenditure. If they do have a drug problem then we will consider making adequate provision for them to enter rehabilitation at I think it is called Smithfield rehabilitation service or to arrange for them to get a methadone reduction course if heroin is the problem. If alcohol were the problem then we could try to fix them up with a sponsor though Alcoholics Anonymous.

Long Texts Sent to Everyone
http://theicarusproject.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=39436
http://tinyurl.com/ycdzxvd8
Obsolete link
She even sent an e-mail to my list asking everyone to block my e-mail address if they did not want to hear anything at all I might write in the future. If you scroll down to “texts sent to Linda Deli Lama 22/2/17” you have my first attempt to set up a Salford Green Party Bank account to transform the way Salford Green Party’s finances are organised and providing cheap meals both for Salford Green Party activists who frequently start leafleting from the Deli Lama and even subsidising cheap meals to the homeless!

Begin extract
The purpose of the Manchester Homeless Jihad is to help homeless beggars to adopt the principles of the homeless wandering mendicants of India. However one can’t easily sleep out of doors in this climate. One needs at least the “twenty six pounds so I can stay in the Premier Inn, rather than the twenty two pounds so I can stay in the Salvation Army and have all my stuff nicked” as one of the first homeless beggars I approached said when I asked him how much money did he need to stop begging for the day? We will try to get enough money raised just from Quakers to fund any registered homeless Jihadist attender the £26 he needs to attend a revamped Midweek Meeting for Worship with a Salford Green Party breakfast to start the day, followed by scripture reading class moved to the morning from the afternoon. Then at 1:10pm there is the Midweek Meeting for Worship. At 1:40pm lunch starts, including pies and cakes from the Salford Green Party Bakery, currently now known as Payne’s Pies and Cakes at 49 Rydal Crescent, Walkden, Worsley, Manchester M28 7JD. It is already the finest cake shop in the world. My son said, “They certainly don’t have anything like this in Stockholm!”
After lunch at 2:30pm we have the “Meeting the Bodhisattvas” event, where we invite spiritually competent people from many spiritual traditions and none to explain the career of their spiritual advancement. This is based on the format for “Quaker Quest” where three Quakers address a meeting of newcomers for ten minutes each and then break into small groups for discussions. This is done twice and then there is a plenary and Meeting for Worship. There is always a good buffet provided. The Buddhists would call it “The history of my going for refuge.” I would like some alcoholics to explain how helpful they have found the twelve step programme or priests talking about how the found their vocation or musicians talking about how essential it is to understand what was in the mind of the composer when he wrote a piece of music. We could even have Green Party candidates talking of how they became “target to win” candidates.
After “Meeting the Bodhisattvas” has finished at about 4:30pm we all go for a buffet dinner in the finest of the “All you can eat” Chinese buffets, the “Buffet City” on Portland Street. We donate perhaps £50 to the management to subsidise meals to all our registered homeless jihadists to, say, £2 instead of £5.50. This way the homeless can afford a subsidised meal along with those of us who have money. This would be the basis of the City Buffet Salford Green Party Bank Account.
On Friday 15 September at 9am, repeated from Sunday 10 September at 11:15am on http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4 there was a programme broadcast called “The Reunion” where people involved in the collapse of Northern Rock in the North east discussed the breaking story.
It should be much easier, once we get an article in “The Big Issue” about the Homeless Quaker Jihad for people wearing a blindfold to help them meditate, — for them to be able to beg for 50p for a half pint of real ale, rather than “for the price of a cup of tea” so beloved of people really trying to beg for as much money as they need to finance a drug habit.

"Afterwards, one could once again learn from history: that evil must be addressed as early as possible. With this argument, Iraq was invaded in 2003, with catastrophic consequences. The Allies had not prepared because they trusted the power of their own ‘’good intentions’’.

I would take issue with the above Jacob, perhaps there were good intentions but as the war was illegal, based on lies, people like Cheney made a fortune out of it & it was pushed by a bunch of Neo-Cons like Perle, Kristol etc, It is I think enough reason for cynicism without even mentioning the ' O' word. Now the Neo-Con Bolton is pushing Trump into war with Iran, which I suspect wont be the usual walkover & could I think lead to the ultimate showdown at the OK corral.

Yes Hitler was evil & I think I am correct in saying that Chamberlain held back due to the worry of a return to the Somme mincer, & Petain apparently decided on the Vichy option for the same reason. I suppose that with hindsight after the mayhem which nobody could have imagined before the fact, it is easy to say that it should have been done differently, especially as there was no precedent for fascism, which for the German people must go down as one of the biggest ever historical shots in the foot, along with Mao & Stalin via the revolution.

As for evil, I cannot think of anything else to describe the Americans adventurism since " The Good War " with it's estimates for civilian deaths being at around 20 million added to the devastation caused in countries which produce what some call black gold,, which has turned out for the many to perhaps be more deserving of the name black death. Perhaps that is why films are still made about WW2 - Vietnam & the rest are much more problematic.

Russian WW2 films tend to reflect the reality they had shoved down their throats by around 85% of the Wehrmacht's resources - perhaps one of the problems wit US adventurism is that the really dirty work is always far away & the population only have Hollywood to go by. I also don'y buy the opinion that the EU has kept the peace for around 70 years as I am pretty sure that those who took on the role of the world's policeman would never have allowed it to happen. They still have a reduced amount of around 60 bases in Europe & of course Nato at the core has been around for quite some time.

It does appear that so far the Europeans are now less keen on aiding & abetting the Middle Eastern follies, which is a good thing - perhaps part of the reason is that they have been receiving almost all of the blowback.

Iran's population is I think about 80 million & would probably be a much harder nut to crack than the previous pushovers so would probably need to be bombed to the usual pile of rubble leading to a huge exodus of people who would have no other option than to flee. At the very least it would destabilise the region which might suit the Neo-Cons very well as it would probably badly effect the underbelly of Russia, which is something I am sure that Putin is well aware of

I do not believe we shall see trenches stretching from the coast to Switzerland again as the fashion since WW2 has been that civilians are the main casualties & in any case those who tend to historically fight each other have nuclear weapons which they can point at each other in the now old game of neither side can win. Civil wars perhaps & the breakdown of civil order, but the root of that will be economics, although if the EZ were to collapse the deficit countries could possibly become better off while Germany & the other surplus countries would suffer.

My main worry is another one of those so far reported incidents of around 19 near nuclear button presses. History doesn't repeat itself but mankind's evil in the shape of wars unfortunately does. Everybody is just guessing when it comes to the rhyme, which so far has always defied our collective imagination, I just hope it does not end in a full stop.

Joris Luyendijk was asked to say something this weekend at the commemoration of the Battle of Passendale in Southwest Belgium. He said that he discovered that this conflict is actually much more relevant to our time than the endlessly cited and filmed World War II.
Hollywood and the film industry are fond of World War II, because what is more beautiful for visual storytellers than a real bad guy? This allows the viewer to fully identify. With such fierce and simple emotions, that in the end you will sell movies.
The total destruction of the Nazis was justified and therefore, Saving Private Ryan is an exciting movie about the allied landing on D-Day. The good wins. Even the gratuitous misanthropy of Quentin Tarantino is too plum when he leaves a group of American-Jewish soldiers in the Inglourious Basterds out of wreck action against the Nazis.
But move Saving Private Ryan to the tricks of Verdun or the Somme. Fifty thousand British boys and men drowned here in the mud. Then you had the more than four hundred thousand soldiers killed or injured in another way. Count on the millions of traumatized people, including Adolf Hitler.

Then what? There are no simple bad guys in the First World War and no happy ending. Nobody wanted a conflict on this scale. The then British Prime Minister, Asquith, certainly knew his country would stay out of the war. Almost all parties knew they were going to win, and soon too. "Back home before the leaves fall."

World War I contains a lot of meaningful lessons for the world now than the Second. Because many conflicts and political processes in our time are characterized by uncertainty, ambiguity and unforeseen side effects. See the mission in Afghanistan or the conflict in Ukraine. Take the crazy imperfect nuclear agreement with Iran. See the euro crisis in Greece or the political and soon economic paralysis in which the United Kingdom has been since the referendum. Nobody saw this coming and nobody wanted it ….
The First World War is asking us for humility. In the end, we learned the lesson that you can all of a sudden find yourself in a war. With that thought, British Prime Minister Chamberlain conducted his appeasement policy against Hitler. When the dictator turned out to be power hungry, the world had to fight yet - against a significantly stronger Germany.

Afterwards, one could once again learn from history: that evil must be addressed as early as possible. With this argument, Iraq was invaded in 2003, with catastrophic consequences. The Allies had not prepared because they trusted the power of their own ‘’good intentions’’.

Einstein said "As a human being, one has been endowed with just enough intelligence to be able to see clearly how utterly inadequate that intelligence is when confronted with what exists."
