We need to talk about AI – Trailer and clips

For anyone interested in AI here is the film I was working on a year or so ago. I was hired to do the interviews. The film is directed by Leanne Pooley.

The film is released by Universal and is available on various VoD and streaming services including iTunes and on Amazon Prime. The trailer is more sensational about AI than the film.

I have just heard from someone trying to see the trailer that they were unable to access it. I suspect the link is tied to geography. I know the film is released today in UK and Europe but is scheduled for later in the US. So it could be that the trailer is not viewable if you are linking from the U.S. I’m sorry about that. All I can suggest is if you can use a proxy. Apologies.

Release dates are:

International (excluding the USA, Australia & NZ) — April 20th
The United States — May 18th
Australia and New Zealand — August 5th

A couple of clips from the film for you.

  1. Interview with “Skype founder and global tech investor Jaan Tallinn. Will the coronavirus pandemic lead to better planning for future global risks? Jaan gives his list of top existential risks and describes his efforts to call attention to AI risk. They discuss AGI, the Simulation Question, the Fermi Paradox and how these are all connected. Do we live in a simulation of a quantum multiverse?”

If you have time this was an extremely interesting interview with Vineer Bhansali:

Interview “with theoretical physicist turned hedge fund investor Vineer Bhansali. Bhansali describes his transition from physics to finance, his firm LongTail Alpha, and his recent outsize returns from the coronavirus financial crisis. Also discussed: derivatives pricing, random walks, helicopter money, and Modern Monetary Theory.”

  2. Just finished watching this and wanted to share that your comment about what kind of self driving car to select had me in tears.Very funny and great documentary in general.

  3. I’m surprised you dont write any more, I hope you and family are OK.
These are very much times where your voice would be if interest.
The wholesale destruction of individual freedoms across the world is rapidly gaining momentum, and we will soon find sane, rational people locked out of society.

Would be great to hear your calm, dispassionate appraisal of what is goingbon; I hope you can find the time soon
